Accountant, Financial Reporting, Senior Accountant

A well-established, privately held transportation company with 50+ years in business is hiring a hands-on General Ledger Accountant to join its stable accounting team. This is an on-site role offering reasonable hours, strong internal support, and long-term stability.

• Own full-cycle General Ledger accounting for multiple related legal entities, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with internal controls
• Lead month-end close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Perform bank reconciliations across multiple accounts, including complex cash sweep and concentration structures
• Manage intercompany accounting activities, including intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and eliminations
• Prepare and analyze trucking and operational reports, partnering with operations to ensure financial data aligns with business activity
• Support payroll processes with exposure to weekly and bi-weekly payroll cycles, including posting payroll entries and assisting with related reconciliations
• Participate in occasional Accounts Payable cross-training to provide coverage and support during peak periods or staff absences
• Assist with ad hoc reporting, audits, and special projects as needed to support the accounting and finance team

• Demonstrated experience in General Ledger accounting, including hands-on ownership of core accounting functions
• Background supporting multi-entity accounting structures
• Comfortable navigating complex, operationally driven environments
• Experience working within an ERP system required;
  Truck Mate/Trimble experience is a plus
• Strong Excel skills, with the ability to analyze and reconcile data efficiently
