Project Manager - Architecture - Farmington Hills
Fishbeck is seeking a Project Manager to join our growing Architectural Department. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in planning and leading small to medium‑scale projects. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of project types, with a focus on higher education, healthcare and civic/municipal markets.
Primary Functions- Assist the market leader with developing fees, project work plans and schedules for proposals.
- Negotiate and execute contracts with clients and subconsultants.
- Manage client relationships throughout project development and execution.
- Collaborate with the design team during programming and conceptual phases.
- Supervise the technical team during preparation of design development and construction documents.
- Lead the coordination of in‑house engineers and outside consultants.
- Develop front‑end specifications with input from the client.
- Oversee construction administration and closeout efforts by the team.
- Serve as project manager/project architect if required for as‑needed work with key clients.
Physical Requirements
Mobility to work in an office setting, use of standard office equipment, visual acuity to read printed materials and computer screens, and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone. Desired EducationMaster of Architecture or Bachelor of Architecture Degree from an accredited university.
Desired Skills/Experience- 15+ years of experience, preferred.
- Licensure preferred.
- Experience in Deltek or similar project planning and budgeting software.
- Knowledge of Revit and BSD Spec Link is a bonus.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, and strong organizational skills.
- Very detail‑oriented, self‑motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible.
- Ability to work well with others under demanding deadline situations.
