Astemo Americas, Inc. is looking for M.Sc./Ph.D. degree holders in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Robotics, or related engineering fields to join our Advanced Technology Development Department as a Manager. The role focuses on developing advanced deep learning techniques for driving behavior modeling, adding value to Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Automated Driving (AD). The candidate must have extensive knowledge in image processing, Generative AI, Vision Language Models, sensors, and AD/ADAS algorithms, and will lead an advanced AI team, plan and execute projects, manage resources and budget, and communicate effectively.
Job Duties- Work in close collaboration with teams in Japan and other departments in the USA.
- Ideate new concepts, create plans and execute strategies, develop test and validation scenarios, and design experimental and analytical processes to enhance ADAS and automated driving systems.
- Perform complex system analysis and troubleshoot issues promptly and effectively.
- Publish technical papers, patents, and present Astemo’s innovative technologies at conferences and seminars.
- Knowledge of Automated Driving (AD) systems is required.
- Experience developing large foundation models/vision language models (preferred).
- Experience developing end‑to‑end architecture for AD/robotics (preferred).
- Strong programming skills in C++ and/or Python are required.
- Proficiency with deep learning frameworks is required.
- Experience with AD/ADAS/autonomous robotics systems using multi‑sensor fusion and embedded systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of cloud computing is a plus.
- Experience in Human Machine Interface system development is a plus.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction is required.
BS degree in mechanical, electrical, computer science, robotics, or a related engineering field. PhD is preferred.
ExperienceMinimum of 6+ years of relevant industrial experience is required.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesLeading, building, and mentoring engineers responsible for sub‑project activities.
Working ConditionsPhysical demands: required to sit or stand for long periods and may occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Travel:
Domestic and international travel may be required. The candidate will occasionally need to travel to multiple global locations to support project development.
