Workday Functional Developer

Location:

Bayan Baru, Penang, Malaysia

An established global organization is seeking a Workday Functional Developer to join its HR Technology team. This role offers the opportunity to work within a diverse, collaborative environment focused on driving innovation and continuous improvement across Workday platforms and HR processes.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research new Workday enhancements, releases, and learning opportunities through the Workday Community.
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications and solutions.
  • Configure and maintain Workday, implement new functionality, and lead project-related activities.
  • Document system changes and maintain training materials and process documentation.
  • Ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity within assigned functional areas.
  • Partner with stakeholders to map, optimize, and improve business processes through Workday solutions.
  • Provide guidance and training to HR teams, HR Operations, and business managers on Workday best practices.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders and HR Operations teams to align Workday feature adoption roadmaps with business objectives.
About You

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a similar Workday-focused role.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Strong hands-on Workday experience across multiple functional areas, with in-depth expertise in at least two modules. Experience in Talent & Performance is highly preferred. Workday Certification is an advantage.
  • Experience supporting HR processes such as performance management, merit cycles, onboarding, benefits administration, and related HRIS functions.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends and relationships.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a changing environment.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working with diverse, globally distributed teams and business stakeholders.
