The Ear, Nose & Throat Institute of Connecticut is a growing multi-specialty practice in Connecticut that is committed to delivering the best possible care to our patients. As we continue to expand, we are looking for a Medical Assistant to join our team.
Job DescriptionA Medical Assistant is responsible for completing administrative and clinical tasks under a Doctor or other medical professional’s supervision.
Full‑time: 40 hours per week. This is a DAY SHIFT (8AM‑5PM), Monday‑Friday. These times may vary depending on need.
The applicant must be friendly, enthusiastic and a "team player." Discretion, the ability to maintain confidentiality, and above‑average verbal and written communication skills are mandatory requirements. Being highly organized with attention to detail is crucial. Computer skills and an excellent telephone manner are also required.
Applicants must be fluent in English. Fluency in other languages preferred.
Responsibilities- Provide administrative support to the entire clinic, including registering patients, answering phone, booking appointments, following up on consults and test results, and other duties as assigned.
- Ensure safe, accurate, and efficient collection, handling, and processing of specimens in accordance with clinic procedures.
- Assist providers.
- Perform other laboratory and administrative duties related to clinic operations.
- Maintain and organize laboratory/clinic equipment and supplies.
- Be proficient in computers and knowledgeable of EMR systems.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to work well with a team in a fast‑paced environment.
- Prepare treatment rooms.
- Clean the rooms between each procedure.
- Inventory medical products and supplies and keep adequate stock in the rooms.
- Review the schedule daily.
- Manage appointments, respecting order of arrival and timeline.
- Manage delays and keep patients informed.
- Update the doctor on the day’s schedule.
- Show effective interpersonal and problem‑solving skills.
- Maintain strong organizational skills.
- Must be willing to travel to work at each of our locations.
- Desire and ability to continuously improve one’s knowledge.
- Active Medical Assistant certificate in the state of Connecticut (CMA, CCMA, or RMA) accepted.
