Job Goals- Nurture and educate young children in a Pre‑K classroom setting.
- Foster their social, emotional, physical, academic and cognitive development.
- Prepare children for success in kindergarten and future learning endeavors through both academic and play experiences.
- Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a closely related field is required.
- Maine State Teaching Certificate (preferred) or ability to obtain one.
- Experience working in a preschool/Early Childhood setting(s).
- Strong understanding of child development principles.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Patience, creativity, and a passion for early childhood education.
- Ability to create and maintain a nurturing and engaging learning environment.
- Must hold or be eligible to hold a Maine DOE Teacher Endorsement in one of the following areas:
- (029) Early Elementary (PreK
- 3) - (081) Early Childhood Teacher (Birth - age
5) - (020) Elementary (K-6)
- * Grandfathered certification may be eligible with additional coursework

- Develop and implement age‑appropriate lesson plans, instructional strategies, and activities aligned with Maine's Early Learning Standards and RSU 9’s SEL, academic, and instructional expectations.
- Conduct developmentally appropriate activities that cover curricular subjects.
- Observe and assess children's progress, documenting their learning and growth.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians by building close connections between school and home, and providing regular updates on children's development and learning goals.
- Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to ensure a cohesive, differentiated learning program, with instructional decisions based on research at the state or national level.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.
- Track attendance and maintain records
