- Tackle travel and logistics like a pro, ensuring the team is primed for high‑performance results at every game, tournament, and postseason run.
- Participate in games and practices, including organization and implementation of daily practices.
- Coaches in competition and training.
- Prepares film breakdown and analysis; presents analysis to team members.
- Plans and prepares for games and training.
- Assists with organizing team travel and meals.
- Assists with scouting, recruitment, and strategy development.
- Supports player and leadership development.
- Contributes to strength and conditioning program, including one‑on‑one strength, and conditioning work with student athletes.
- Provides support and encouragement to student athletes.
- Recruits and retains talented athletes; builds relationship with prospective student athletes and their families through email, phone, and one‑on‑one meetings.
- Understands NCAA and North Atlantic Conference (NAC) rules, compliance, and laws.
- Ensures the safety and well‑being of student athletes.
- Serves as an effective role model for college‑age students.
- Assists with day‑to‑day operations of the softball program.
- Provides effective communication to head coach.
- Collaborates effectively with other Department of Athletics' team members.

- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with the skills of softball.
- Valid driver's license (in good standing, based on UMS standards).
- Availability for practices and weekend competitive schedule.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Collegiate competitive experience/coaching.
- Sports recruiting experience.
- CPR/First Aid Certification.
