• Participate in games and practices, including organization and implementation of daily practices.
• Coaches in competition and training.
• Prepares film breakdown and analysis; presents analysis to team members.
• Plans and prepares for games and training.
• Assists with organizing team travel and meals.
• Assists with scouting, recruitment, and strategy development.
• Supports player and leadership development.
• Contributes to strength and conditioning program, including one‑on‑one strength, and conditioning work with student athletes.
• Provides support and encouragement to student athletes.
• Recruits and retains talented athletes; builds relationship with prospective student athletes and their families through email, phone, and one‑on‑one meetings.
• Understands NCAA and North Atlantic Conference (NAC) rules, compliance, and laws.
• Ensures the safety and well‑being of student athletes.
• Serves as an effective role model for college‑age students.
• Assists with day‑to‑day operations of the softball program.
• Provides effective communication to head coach.
• Collaborates effectively with other Department of Athletics' team members.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with the skills of softball.
• Valid driver's license (in good standing, based on UMS standards).
• Availability for practices and weekend competitive schedule.

• Bachelor's Degree.
• Collegiate competitive experience/coaching.
• Sports recruiting experience.
• CPR/First Aid Certification.
