Senior Credit & Accounts Receivable Specialist
We're partnering with a growing organization seeking a Senior Credit & Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys untangling complex account issues, improving customer payment performance, and influencing process improvements across the quote-to-cash cycle.
The immediate focus will be reducing aged receivables, resolving account discrepancies, and bringing delinquent accounts back into good standing. Once stabilized, this individual will play a key role in maintaining account health, improving collections strategies, and providing a stronger back-end perspective on the company's order-to-cash process.
What You'll Be Doing
- Manage a portfolio of delinquent and high-risk customer accounts
- Perform complex account reconciliations and research payment discrepancies
- Investigate deduction issues, unapplied cash, short payments, chargebacks, and billing disputes
- Work directly with customers to resolve outstanding balances and negotiate payment plans when needed
- Monitor aging reports and prioritize collection efforts to reduce past-due balances
- Partner with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, and Accounting to resolve account issues and improve collection outcomes
- Analyze root causes of recurring AR issues and recommend process improvements
- Maintain accurate customer credit files and monitor credit risk exposure
- Support month-end activities related to AR and account reconciliations
- Provide recommendations to improve quote-to-cash processes, billing accuracy, collections effectiveness, and overall cash flow
- Help establish best practices to keep accounts current once delinquency has been resolved
