Factory​/Service Manager II - FCC

The annual salary listed for this position includes the additional $0.75 per hour medium security differential ($1,560 annually) for all full-time positions domiciled in a medium-security institution.

• Plans, directs, supervises the activities of lower-level managers/supervisors/offender workers engaged in an industry operation(s) or service-type vocational enterprise(s); prepares a proposed budget for assigned operation(s)/enterprise(s) / Initiates procurement documents to obtain raw materials and supplies; establishes stock levels and reorder points; maintains inventory of supplies and equipment; computes job costs; including material quantity required for the job; prepares job/cost reports; prepares shipping and billing documents
• Assigns and monitors job orders and work schedules; designates which section of the operation/enterprise will be responsible for particular tasks; ensures the proper use and operation of equipment and materials; inspects work areas to ensure safe working conditions are maintained / Inspects work in progress for conformance with quality control standards and efficiency of operations
• Administers a graded-wage program for offender workers with promotions, demotions, and performance evaluations; maintains time and payroll records on offender workers; confers with classification and/or custody staff regarding offender work assignments / Develops specifications for new equipment that will meet industry operational/vocational enterprise requirements
• Consults with lower-level managers or supervisors regarding special orders; production problems; schedules, and delivery dates; confers with customers and vendors regarding problems; product improvement, and development of new products
• Inspects raw materials received for quality standards
• Exercises independence and initiative in the performance of responsibilities; receives general administrative direction to ensure conformance with department policies and procedures and performs other related work as assigned

One or more yearsof experience as a Factory Service Manager I with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System

Two or more yearsof experience as a Correctional Industries Supervisor or Maintenance Supervisor with the Department of Corrections’ Missouri Vocational Enterprises program

Two or more yearsin a supervisory or management capacity in a manufacturing field and/or service-type vocational enterprise (laundry, printing, binding, recycling, or closely related area) and/or overseeing the work of offenders in a production/service setting (does not include surveillance and security of offenders) and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school…
