About the role — Outpatient Urologist opportunity joining at BJC Parkland Health Center in Farmington, Missouri. This is a full-time, 100% Urology practice with excellent support from an established, multi-specialty clinic. Farmington is located about an hour from St. Louis and offers a small-town feel with access to big-city amenities.
Role detailsRole Purpose
The physician will provide professional medical services within the practicing specialty to the best of the physician’s ability through direct patient care and spend additional time as necessary to perform other related duties such as completing medical records, MyChart consultations and inbasket management, patient-specific education and collaboration with advanced practice providers and care team members.
Responsibilities- Manage the medical care of patient panels by providing or arranging inpatient hospital care for patients, including hospital rounds or coordinating with hospitalists or other physicians for coverage, consistent with Medical Staff requirements.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and care team members to ensure excellent patient care outcomes at the clinic location(s) and any other BJC outreach locations as needed.
- Perform and document medical histories and physicals in the patient’s medical record as required by hospital medical staff bylaws.
- Provide or arrange call coverage for clinic patients and inpatient call coverage in a manner acceptable to BJC and in accordance with Medical Staff bylaws, while following all policies and procedures and applicable laws.
- Collaborate and teach advanced practice providers, support staff, or any care team member assigned in the care of the patient panel.
- Safety-sensitive position: must maintain an ongoing state of alertness and work safely as an essential function of the job.
