Your Role as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA)

We are seeking a dedicated Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to provide high-quality care for residents. The CMA administers medications and assists residents with daily living activities in a home-like environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Administer prescribed medications to residents and maintain accurate medical records under licensed staff supervision.
  • Verify resident identity before medication administration and document dosage and time.
  • Monitor residents for medication responses and report adverse reactions to the supervising nurse.
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meals, and mobility.
  • Recognize and report changes in resident conditions to charge staff.
  • Observe, record, and report resident care, conditions, concerns, and intake/output as required.
  • Support coworkers by providing assistance as needed.
  • Complete admission, discharge, and transfer documentation as required.
  • Provide housekeeping duties, including cleaning of common areas and resident rooms.
  • Answer phone calls, greet visitors, and provide tours of the community when necessary.
Physical Demands
  • Standing, sitting, walking, and changing positions frequently.
  • Lifting up to 25 lbs.; pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to push a resident in a wheelchair up to 350 lbs.
  • Use safety equipment such as gait belts and mechanical lifts as required.
Safety Requirements
  • Follow proper procedures for resident care, including two-person lifts when necessary.
  • Use required PPE to prevent exposure to blood borne pathogens.
  • Report work-related injuries within 12 hours and participate in required documentation.
  • Participation in company drug testing procedures.
Work Environment

This job operates in an indoor environment with adequate lighting and ventilation. It may include attending outdoor or public activities with residents.

Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Certified Medication Aide/Med Level One course and active certification in the state of MO.
  • Training at the community to obtain Med Level One course certification.
  • Active certification in good standing.
