We are seeking an experienced Dining Services Director to oversee our dining services program, lead a dedicated kitchen team, and ensure residents enjoy nutritious, delicious, scratch‑made meals every day.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include planning, organizing, and directing dining services operations to provide residents with the best experience in hospitality and nutrition.

Administrative and Planning Duties
  • Plans, develops, organizes, implements and evaluates dining services goals, policies and procedures.
  • Maintains compliance with budget, labor, and expense control.
  • Plans written menus at least 30 days in advance of preparation/serving dates involving resident preferences.
  • Interviews new residents to acquire food preferences, allergies and special requests.
  • Holds monthly Food Committee meetings with residents.
  • Develops system to track resident dietary needs/preferences and monitors for changes.
  • Confers with dietitian to ensure menus and department policies conform to nutritional standards.
  • Creates menus with heart‑healthy choices and considers low‑sodium and diabetic diet needs.
  • Continually upgrades knowledge of dietary management and nutrition.
  • Works with other department leaders to ensure flawless execution of special events.
  • Collects guest and visitor payments and forwards to business office.
  • Represents dining services team at resident council meetings for feedback.
Kitchen and Dining Room Duties
  • Inspects kitchen for compliance with regulations, sanitation, food storage, record keeping, temperatures, portion sizes and chemical usage.
  • Reviews daily menus, makes substitutions when necessary.
  • Inspects meals for nutrition and attractiveness, performing meal counts.
  • Orders food, supplies, and equipment for preparation and service.
  • Develops prep and pull lists to maintain food quality and consistency.
  • Reviews deliveries for quality, proper amounts and pricing.
  • Ensures communication and teamwork between kitchen staff and servers.
  • Inspects dining room presentation for compliance with hospitality standards.
  • Inspects daily cleaning of dining room.
  • Visits residents in dining room during dinner at least four evenings per week.
Supervisory Requirements
  • Recruits, selects, hires, trains, evaluates, supervises and counsels dining services team.
  • Schedules department hours appropriately.
  • Serves as effective role model and maintains approachable management style.
  • Treats all associates respectfully.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of dining services management experience with 1 year in senior living.
  • Graduate of an A.D.A.

    -approved course in food services or certification in the culinary field preferred.
  • Current Serv Safe certification.
Additional Requirements
  • Enjoy serving seniors.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and hospitality.
  • Show trustworthiness and dependability.
  • Work efficiently with little to no supervision.
  • Possess effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer skills (e.g., Excel, Word, internet‑based ordering systems, email).
  • Accommodate resident preferences in dining services.
  • Handle complaints graciously.
  • Visit residents in dining room during dinner at least 4 evenings per week.
  • Make independent decisions when warranted.
  • Perform proficiently in all applicable competency areas.
  • Maintain professional relationships with associates, vendors, etc.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary or confidential information.
  • Follow company policies, including harassment and compliance procedures.
  • Adhere to Century Parks’ Code of Ethics and complete required compliance training.
