The Civil Engineer supports and manages multiple civil design projects, preparing site layouts, grading, drainage, and utility plans using AutoCAD and Civil 3D. The role involves technical design calculations, permitting, and documentation for public and private developments while ensuring compliance with civil codes and standards. It also includes contributing to business development and maintaining strong client relationships.

• Comprehension of principles/practices of civil engineering
• Understanding of approval and permitting processes for civil projects, and basic technical writing skills needed for civil reports and letters
• Knowledge of codes and standards in civil design, including site layout, grading, erosion control, storm sewer, water, sanitary sewer, roadway, and fueling design
• Proficiency in calculations and programs used in the design of civil systems and reports (drainage, water, sanitary sewer, roadway)
• Experience in concurrently managing multiple projects, schedules, and budgets
• Perform assignments designed to develop professional working knowledge and abilities, requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria needed to carry out a sequence of related engineering tasks
• Execute plan drafting using AutoCAD and Civil 3D software
• Adjust and correlate data, recognize discrepancies in results, and follow operations through a series of related and detailed steps or processes
• Prepare improvement plans, specifications, supporting documents, and permit applications for subdivisions, commercial developments, multifamily developments, and public works projects
• Assist in the preparation of calculations such as storm drain, wastewater, water system, earthwork quantities, transportation, cost estimates, and other supporting documentation for public and private projects
• Take an active role in new business development and build strong relationships with existing clients

• Bachelor of Engineering from a four‑year, board‑approved engineering curriculum
• Typically, a minimum of 4 years of civil engineering experience after educational requirements. 2 years or more of land development experience is highly preferred
