Power Engineering Technologist I-PETI CC –

This entry‑level training position develops an inexperienced candidate to design safe, cost‑effective, and reliable distribution facilities for residential, area lighting, basic facilities, and simple maintenance projects. The incumbent will acquire basic power distribution design skills and advance to a Power Engineering Technologist I or similar role.
Local candidates are preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Learn, practice, and promote all safety policies and procedures 100% of the time.
- Learn company policies and procedures for developing site designs for electrical distribution facilities.
- Prepare site drawings and construction sketches for various installations in a cost‑effective manner that maximizes safety and service reliability.
- Prepare job packages, including material estimates and requisitions, for the designed distribution facilities.
- Evaluate loading of equipment components, such as transformers or fuses, to ensure a safe and reliable design.
- Maintain accurate records and files, updating client systems with accurate data entry.
- Support company and client business goals while representing themselves positively and professionally.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
Regular Attendance is required.
Education and/or Experience- High school degree or GED (required).
- Associate’s degree (AA or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school) preferred.
- In certain situations, an Associate or four‑year degree may be required based on client project or contractual requirements.
- 0–1 year experience in a technical field or GIS/CAD.
- No experience required, but experience in the utility field is desired.

On‑Job TrainingIncumbent will receive extensive on‑job training and shadowing to develop required skills.
Language Skills- Read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals and operational procedures.
- Write simple correspondence.

- Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
- Compute rates, ratios, and percentages; interpret spreadsheets.

- Interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Deal with problems involving several concrete variables.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and personal computers.
