Job Description

The Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant provides patient treatment as directed by a licensed physical therapist to treat or restore patients to their maximum functional performance level.

Responsibilities

Practices within physical therapy licensure guidelines.

Identifies and resolves customer service issues.

Trains staff, hospice, acute care, outpatient rehab, and home health in specialty services.

Provides annual in-service to staff.

Under supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist, administers physical therapy treatments appropriate to diagnosis and APTA guidelines.

Leads and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to plan patient care.

Documents patient care according to regulations.

Uses resources cost-effectively.

Follows infection-control and safety policies.

Meets productivity standards.

Participates in performance improvement initiatives.

Provides patient and caregiver education.

Contributes to department goals.

Engages in professional development.

Supports a learning environment for students.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

Physical Therapy Assistant Program.
Experience:

1 year in physical therapy.
Licensure:
Licensed by Virginia Board of Physical Therapy.
