FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Independent contractors earn predictable full‑time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule. Based in Reno, NV, FAR Inspections has been in business for over 9 years.
What is an Occupancy Verification?Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties and send out independent contractors to verify property occupancy and report general condition via a mobile application. Most inspections are exterior only; about 10% require interior photos after vacancy.
Responsibilities- Complete most inspections in 5‑6 minutes.
- Finish inspection within 4 days of assignment.
- Report general property conditions and determine occupancy per industry standards.
- Take 9+ photos with brief comments.
- Complete short form in app.
- Be able to spend extended periods driving with multiple stops during the day.
- Computer with internet connection.
- Reliable vehicle (good mileage; you pay your own gas).
- Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
- Printer.
- Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.
This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate that varies by county and volume. Although paid per inspection, you can earn an equivalent of $30–$40 per hour. Depending on county and whether it is urban or rural, you may complete 20–500 inspections per month working 2–30 hours per week. Pay rates differ: lower volume counties have higher rates;
higher volume counties have lower rates. No set volume; work is consistent month‑to‑month. Earn more as you become established, have greater availability, or cover a larger territory. No additional mileage reimbursement beyond the flat fee per inspection.
