The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing the commercial and contractual aspects of AV projects, ensuring accurate assessment of completed work, effective change control, and maximised financial performance across a portfolio of installations. Support project teams through contract reviews, cost management, and risk assessment to ensure profitable, and on-time delivery.

Working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, and operational stakeholders, the Quantity Surveyor will support the successful commercial delivery of AV projects, ensuring effective change management, contractual compliance, accurate forecasting, timely invoicing, and successful agreement of final accounts.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing the commercial and contractual aspects of AV projects, ensuring accurate assessment of completed work, effective change control, and maximised financial performance across a portfolio of installations. Support project teams through contract reviews, cost management, and risk assessment to ensure profitable, and on-time delivery.

Working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, and operational stakeholders, the Quantity Surveyor will support the successful commercial delivery of AV projects, ensuring effective change management, contractual compliance, accurate forecasting, timely invoicing, and successful agreement of final accounts.

Day-To-Day Responsibilities:
  • Conduct contract reviews upon project award, ensuring the project team understands the commercial and contractual requirements of the agreement
  • Review and interpret FIDIC, JCT, and bespoke client contracts, ensuring compliance throughout project delivery
  • Review procurement and subcontractor packages, securing the best commercial terms and assessing subcontractor payments
  • Assess, value, and authorise subcontractor payments based on completed work and contractual terms.
  • Measure and assess the value of work completed on-site, ensuring all AV installations, equipment deliveries, and commissioning milestones are accounted for.
  • Prepare and submit valuations, progress applications, and invoices in line with the project contract terms.
  • Produce accurate monthly cost reports and financial forecasts, tracking performance against project budgets.
  • Develop and maintain project cash flow forecasts to support financial planning.
  • Identify, notify, and track changes, variations, and compensation events as soon as they arise, in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Prepare estimates and quotations for additional works, ensuring maximum commercial return.
  • Assess and negotiate the value of changes to maintain profitability.
  • Maintain accurate cost records in collaboration with the Project Manager and Site Manager.
  • Manage and oversee the commercial and contractual aspects of the project, acting as the main point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the project accounting team with monthly performance and financial reporting.
  • Assist in negotiating and agreeing final accounts to ensure maximum value retention upon project completion.
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure completed work is accurately measured and any new opportunities are identified.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Provide commercial insights to senior leadership, advising on potential improvements, strategies, and risk mitigation.
  • Perform additional tasks, responsibilities, and projects as needed to support the team and organisation, ensuring flexibility in adapting to evolving priorities and objectives.
