We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of custom engineering projects in the maritime and marine sector. The role requires a strong engineering mindset, combined with proven project management expertise. Candidates with a background in mechanical design, programme management, are highly desirable. Ability to obtain security clearance is essential.

• Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to specification.
• Ensure projects are properly planned, resourced, and executed.
• Assist with Non‑Recurring Engineering (NRE) cost estimations.
• Monitor costs against project plans and escape deviations.
• Create, maintain, and communicate detailed project plans including milestones and deliverables.

• Develop comprehensive project specifications and system designs.
• Develop functional, environmental, and production test procedures.
• Prepare and manage project documentation including manuals, manufacturing record books, interface specifications, handling and storage procedures, and test/inspection plans.

• Identify, document, assess, and mitigate project risks.
• Escalate significant risks to senior management where appropriate.
• Lead and participate in internal and external gateway reviews.
• Ensure compliance with internal standards and customer requirements.

• Manage customer engagement, including meetings and communications.
• Provide clear, timely communication to internal and external stakeholders.
• Support installation and commissioning activities remotely where required.
• Ensure effective handover and training to the Customer Support team.
• Conduct project closeout reviews and capture lessons learned.

• Mechanical design, programme/project management experience

• Degree (BSc/BEng or equivalent) in Engineering or related discipline, or relevant industry experience

• APM PMQ, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification

Ability to obtain security clearance is essential

Ability to be on‑site 5 days per week initially; some flexibility depending on project workload
