About The Role

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day running of our Finance function at iRock School of Music. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in ensuring financial accuracy, supporting customers, and contributing to a high-performing and well-structured finance operation.

This is a hands‑on role with a strong focus on credit control and collections, combined with exposure to broader transactional finance activities. You will be a key point of contact for parents, working through outstanding balances with professionalism and care, while supporting the integrity of our financial records.

Salary: £26,000 - £28,000

Bonus: Annual Bonus linked to both Company and Individual Performance

Holiday:27 days, plus bank holidays

Contract: Full-time (35 hours per Week), permanent

Location:Farnborough (Hybrid – 4 days on‑site, 1 day from home)

Credit Control & Collections
  • Take ownership of failed payment cases and determine appropriate next steps
  • Contact parents via phone and email to resolve outstanding balances with empathy and professionalism
  • Manage follow‑ups to ensure timely resolution of all cases
  • Support the setup and monitoring of payment plans
  • Raise and manage invoices across systems
  • Apply credits and support refund processing
  • Escalate complex or sensitive cases where needed
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all activity
  • Identify and flag inconsistencies or issues in accounts
Transactional Finance Support
  • Support day‑to‑day finance activity to ensure records are accurate and up to date
  • Raise invoices and process transactions in the accounting system
  • Assist with accounts payable processing
  • Support bank and payment reconciliations
  • Maintain finance trackers and internal records
  • Assist with month‑end processes and reconciliations
Systems & Processes
  • Follow structured processes to ensure consistency and control
  • Maintain accurate data across finance systems
  • Support continuous improvement of finance processes
  • Ensure all activity is clearly recorded for audit and visibility

What We’re Looking For Essential
  • AAT Level 3 qualified or qualified by experience (typically 2+ years in a transactional finance role)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Comfortable handling customer conversations around payments with professionalism and empathy
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Confident using systems (e.g. Excel, accounting software)
  • Able to work independently and use initiative
Desirable
  • Experience in credit control or collections
  • Experience in a finance or administrative role
  • Interest in developing a long‑term career in finance
