As a Support Engineer, you'll play a key role in keeping secure environments running smoothly while helping teams deliver technology where reliability and security are essential.
Role Overview- Location: Farnborough (5 days per week onsite)
- Package: Competitive day rate (Contract) or Competitive Perm
- Industry: Defence & National Security Technology
- Clearance: DV Clearance
- Deliver 1st and 2nd line technical support across secure environments, escalating more complex issues where required.
- Manage and respond to support tickets, keeping users informed throughout the resolution process.
- Provide remote and desk-side support to end users across a range of technologies.
- Monitor systems, respond to alerts and triage incidents efficiently.
- Communicate planned maintenance and service updates to the wider user community.
- Maintain accurate documentation within the ticketing system and contribute to the internal knowledge base.
- Support device provisioning, user onboarding and endpoint management activities.
- Work closely with engineers, architects and delivery teams to ensure reliable service across secure platforms.
- Occasionally travel to remote sites to provide onsite support when required.
- Experience supporting Windows 10/11 environments.
- Administration of Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra Active Directory.
- Endpoint management and end-user device provisioning.
- Knowledge of Power Shell, including running scripts.
- Understanding of core security principles such as Multi-Factor Authentication and Conditional Access.
- Experience using IT service management tools such as Atlassian or similar platforms.
- Exposure to Linux environments including Ubuntu or CentOS.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with a proactive, customer-focused approach.
- Windows Server administration.
- Group Policy creation and troubleshooting.
- Experience writing Power Shell scripts.

Please note: Due to the secure nature of this role, candidates must already hold the highest level of UK Security Clearance.
