Due to growth within UK programmes we will need talented Dev Ops Engineers throughout the course of 2026

Duties include participating in daily scrums performing software requirements analysis risk identification risk mitigation and collaboration across Agile teams. Flexible cross-training to also provide systems engineering software development training security and testing is also desired.

Location:

Future vacancies could be available in Bristol Farnborough or Whiteley (Hampshire).

Key Responsibilities:

• Designs creates and maintains databases in a client/server environment.
• Plan and execute migration of database and associated date from physical/IaaS to virtual AWS instances
• Configures database for optimal performance/resilience/replication/reporting/administration and data backup/archiving regime
• Designs implements and maintains complex databases with respect to SQL access methods access time device allocation validation checks organization protection and security documentation and statistical methods.
• Applies knowledge and experience with database technologies development methodologies and front-end (e.g. COGNOS)/back-end programming languages (e.g. SQL). Performs database programming and supports systems design.
• Contribute to runbooks for maintenance of database dictionaries overall monitoring of standards and procedures file design and storage and integration of systems through database design.
• Align with existing Leidos delivery standards and identify/craft/suggest improvements thereon

What does Leidos need from me:

• Software engineering experience
• Considerable experience with developing software code in AWS Services Jira Confluence Test Rail Sonar Qube Robot Python Bitbucket Jenkins Terra Form Ansible Unix bash scripting IaC and an appreciation for the SDLC
• Considerable experience in translating user stories into engineering deliverables and associated documentation.
• Perform systems software development including deployment of build artifacts across different environments leverage Git Flow constructs
• Considerable experience of with automated build/test/deploy
• Considerable experience of AWS SME (Wintel / Unix / Virtualised Networking / Monitoring / Security)
• Experience of SAFe
• Collaborator self-starter
• Ability to work in fast paced environment and deliver results key milestones targets
• Align with existing Leidos delivery standards and identify/craft/suggest improvements thereon
• Excellent English written and interpersonal communication skills
• Must be a UK Citizen and based in UK for the duration
• Must have or be able to obtain a UK SC Clearance

Clearance Requirements:

• Clearance to Start BPSS
• Clearance for Role SC
• You must be willing to undergo SC or DV clearance dependent upon the security requirements for the role
