The Technology & Innovation Manager will be responsible for identifying and developing technologies, represents Materion’s technological capabilities to relevant stakeholders (customers, partners, R&D etc and acts as an interface between external parties and Materion internal functions (T&I, sales & marketing, manufacturing and supply chain). Reporting to the Director Technology & Innovation EMEA and working closely with the management and team in Farnborough, the key responsibilities of this role will include but not be limited to:

• Carry out T&I development activities, following the process and reporting paths
• Contribute to the T&I roadmap
• Develop materials, processes and associated specifications.
• Provide technical support as appropriate for operations, quality & customers.
• Perform materials and component testing, partly with external partners
• Be customer support and understand the applications as far as possible
• Manage metallurgical and testing laboratory
• Participate in R&D programs (be part of the application process and follow the regulations/obligations)
• Write and present papers at technical conferences
• Advise on current and emerging best practice
• Other To undertake any other duties as requested by the Director, Technology & Innovation EMEA in conjunction with local manufacturing and Corporate requests.

• Master or PHD in Metallurgy and/or Material Science (Focus: metallic materials)
• Experience in powder metallurgy, 3D-printing and/or materials testing
• General understanding when evaluating standards and customer specifications
