Fleet Vehicle Technician

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Fleet Vehicle Technician, a vital role within a busy fleet and rental operation based in Farnham. The Fleet Vehicle Technician will be responsible for maintaining a large fleet of commercial vehicles, ensuring maximum uptime and operational efficiency. This Fleet Vehicle Technician role offers a practical and supportive working environment, with a focus on cost-effective repairs and vehicle reliability.

Competitive basic salary of £38,000 per annum, with potential for increased earnings for mobile work as a Fleet Vehicle Technician.
Monday to Friday working hours, 8am to 6pm, with no weekend shifts.
Flexibility to work either in the workshop or mobile, subject to preference.

Duties:

Maintain and repair a large fleet of commercial vehicles to ensure operational readiness.
Conduct servicing, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs with a focus on safety and efficiency.
Approach repairs with cost-consciousness, prioritising partial replacements and reusing parts when appropriate.
Support the rental fleet either in the workshop or mobile as required.
Prepare vehicles for MOT testing (MOT licence advantageous but not essential).
Support fleet management by providing practical, cost-effective repairs that minimise downtime.

Requirements:

Proven experience in maintaining and repairing large commercial vehicle fleets.
Full UK driving licence with 7.5 tonne entitlement – this is non-negotiable.
Previous experience working with rental companies such as Northgate or similar is highly desirable.
Practical, adaptable attitude with a focus on commercial efficiency.
Ability to work either in the workshop or on mobile projects.
MOT Tester licence is advantageous but not essential.
A positive work ethic and proactive approach are essential.
