Assistant Quantity Surveyor required for a long-established prime residential contractor.

This Assistant Quantity Surveyor position is based in Farnham and offers exposure to high-value refurbishment and new build projects. The successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor will support the commercial team across super prime schemes. This Assistant Quantity Surveyor role suits someone with solid residential experience looking to develop within a structured commercial environment. An Assistant Quantity Surveyor here will be involved from pre-construction through to final account.

A well-established, privately owned residential construction group with nearly 30 years' experience delivering super prime homes across London and the southern counties. The business operates through specialist divisions covering prime London refurbishments, country estates, bespoke works and maintenance, with a strong in-house team supporting projects from inception to completion.

This is a financially stable, owner-led business with a consistent pipeline of high-quality residential projects. The commercial team is experienced and hands-on, offering proper mentorship and exposure to complex builds including listed restorations, basement schemes and bespoke finishes. Projects are carefully managed, with strong relationships across consultants and subcontractors, allowing work to be delivered in a measured and professional manner.

Working closely with Senior and Commercial Managers, your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with cost planning and budget preparation
• Procurement of subcontract packages
• Preparing and issuing subcontract documentation
• Valuations and variation management
• Cost reporting and cash flow forecasting
• Measurement and take-offs
• Reviewing drawings and specifications
• Supporting tender analysis and comparisons
• Attending site and commercial meetings
• Assisting with final accounts

You will be office-based in Farnham with regular site visits across Surrey, Hampshire and occasionally London. Projects typically range from high-end refurbishments to new build country homes, often involving specialist trades and detailed finishes.
