CNC Turning Setter/Operator

18.50 per hour + Productivity Bonus + Overtime Permanent Day Shift Early Finish Every Friday

Are you an experienced CNC Turning Setter/Operator looking for a secure, long‑term opportunity with a well‑established precision engineering business? The Role

You'll be responsible for setting and operating CNC turning centres with Fanuc controls, producing high‑precision components from billets and castings while working to tight tolerances and maintaining exceptional quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set and operate CNC turning centres with Fanuc controls.
  • Manufacture precision‑engineered components from billets and castings.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Machine a variety of ferrous and non‑ferrous materials.
  • Select appropriate tooling and cutting tools.
  • Monitor machining processes and make adjustments where required.
  • Inspect finished components using micrometers, verniers, gauges and CMM equipment.
  • Work to production targets while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Follow health & safety procedures and maintain an organised work area.
Qualifications
  • A recognised apprenticeship or significant experience as a CNC Turner.
  • Proven experience setting and operating CNC lathes.
  • Experience working with Fanuc controls.
  • The ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Experience machining precision components.
  • Confidence using precision measuring equipment.
  • A proactive attitude with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience with CNC programming and CMM inspection equipment would be advantageous but is not essential.
What's on Offer?
  • 18.50 per hour
  • 39‑hour working week
  • Monday to Thursday: 8:00am-4:30pm
  • Friday: 8:00am-3:30pm - enjoy an early finish every week!
  • Overtime paid at 1.25x hourly rate.
  • Productivity bonus (currently averaging 6%, with the opportunity to earn 10%+).
