About the role
We’re looking for a highly organised and proactive PA / Administrator to support our Director of People & Organisational Development (P&OD) at Avante Care & Support. This is a key role at the heart of the organisation, where you’ll provide dedicated one-to-one support to the Director while also playing an important part in the smooth running of the wider P&OD team.

- Providing high‑quality PA and administrative support to the Director
- Managing a busy diary, coordinating meetings and ensuring thorough preparation
- Producing professional reports, presentations and correspondence
- Maintaining and improving systems, records and processes
- Supporting HR administration, including DBS checks and occupational health processes
- Responding to queries from managers and employees on policies and procedures
- Coordinating internal events such as leadership sessions, team days and awards
- Managing invoices, purchase orders and supplier relationships
- Supporting internal communications, including newsletters and Linked In updates
- Carrying out research and supporting project work
You’ll be someone who is organised, detail‑focused and confident working in a fast‑paced environment, with the ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organisation.
We’re particularly looking for someone who:- Has experience in a PA or administrative role (ideally within HR or social care)
- Communicates clearly and professionally, both written and verbal
- Is confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Power Point
- Can manage competing priorities and stay calm under pressure
- Takes a proactive approach and enjoys solving problems
- Understands the importance of discretion and confidentiality
- Proven experience supporting senior stakeholders
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Experience producing reports and presentations
- Comfortable working with data and maintaining accurate systems
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English
- Level 3 Business Administration (or working towards)
- CIPD Level 3 (or an interest in working towards it)
