Registered Ultrasound Tech – Per Diem
Fayette Medical Associates
Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams as ordered under the supervision of a radiologist. This role also involves training personnel and providing educational support to students and other healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities- Performs ultrasound studies: abdominal, retroperitoneal, obstetrics/gynecology, small parts, neonatal, vascular, and endocavity.
- Correlates clinical history with the test to be performed.
- Maintains CEUs required by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
- Provides clinical instruction of ultrasound students and other healthcare professionals.
- Provides imaging services through knowledge of PACS system to patients of all ages including maternal, neonate, infants, pediatrics, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
- Performs duties necessary to maintain accreditation.
- Provides safe radiology services to self, patients and co-workers.
- Responds timely to all forms of communication.
- Provides assistance for patients and their families in the department and during transport as appropriate.
- Must be efficient in the use of all transport equipment, office equipment and related material essential to good patient care and reports any problems when necessary.
- Takes responsibility for care, cleaning and maintenance of transport equipment used in the transport of patients.
- Takes responsibility for supplies used in the transport of patients; i.e., O2 cylinders, warm blankets, etc.
- Maintains performance, patient and employee satisfaction and financial standards as outlined in the performance evaluation.
- Performs compliance requirements as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Must adhere to the DCH Behavioral Standards including creating positive relationships with patients/families, coworkers, colleagues and with self.
- Requires use of electronic mail, time and attendance software, learning management software and intranet.
- Must adhere to all DCH Health System policies and procedures.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
- BLS required.
- Previous experience preferred.
- Must have working knowledge of ultrasound equipment, NIV equipment and accessories, cameras, patient procedural and patient care items, telephone, computer and calculator.
- Must have obtained certification as RDMS.
- Must obtain certification as RVT (RVS) within twenty-four (24) months of hire date.
- Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English.
