Job Description
We invite you to apply for the Fay Radiology Technologist role at DCH Health System
.
- Provides imaging services to patients of all ages, including neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric, through knowledge of PACS.
- Ensures safety for all radiology services to self, patient, and co-workers.
- Uses AIDET principles in all patient interactions.
- Fulfills education requirements as established by ARRT, TJC, and DCH Health System.
- Administers contrast and medications to all assigned patients according to policy and procedure.
- May be rotated to any modality where competency has been assessed, including but not limited to Nuclear Medicine, CT, MRI, Mammography, and Fluoroscopy.
- Works independently in a specified area with little or no supervision.
- Instructs and supervises student technologists as assigned.
- Follows established protocols to provide quality exams.
- Maintains equipment and supplies used in imaging of all patients.
- Collaborates with other departments and personnel to provide appropriate and safe care to patients and families.
- Assists patients and families within the department and during transport as appropriate, addressing observed needs.
- Efficiently uses all transport equipment, office equipment and related material essential to good patient care, reporting any problems when necessary.
- Maintains transport equipment and supplies, such as oxygen cylinders and warm blankets.
- Maintains personal qualifications as outlined by ACR/FDA/MQSA requirements and keeps a quality control record.
- Exhibits enhanced knowledge and skills required to maintain a safe MRI environment daily.
- Follows scanning protocols, patient positioning, and screening, and responds to patient and equipment emergencies.
- Performs nuclear medicine imaging, dilution, and uptake procedures.
- Conducts quality and radiation control procedures per departmental policy and state regulations.
- Performs procedures in accordance with authorized users of the facility radioactive materials license.
- Provides all quality control and documentation of assay, dispensation, and disposal of radioactive materials as outlined by departmental policy and state regulations.
- Maintains performance, patient and employee satisfaction, and financial standards as outlined in performance evaluation.
- Performs compliance requirements as per the Employee Handbook.
- Adheres to DCH Behavioral Standards, creating positive relationships with patients, families, coworkers, and self.
- Safeguards patients, visitors, and employees through essential job functions.
- Identifies and reduces unsafe practices that may result in harm.
- Reduces risks and hazards to promote safety.
- Uses electronic mail, time and attendance software, learning management software, and intranet.
- Adheres to all DCH Health System policies and procedures.
- Receives other duties as assigned.
- Graduate of a JRCERT approved school of radiologic technology.
- Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in radiography within one year of hire date.
- BLS required.
- Efficient use of all radiologic equipment and office equipment, reporting problems as needed.
- English language proficiency: can read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend.
