Summary ofJob Duties
The Administrative Specialist position is within the Department of Industrial Engineering and will work primarily with the graduate programs for Master of Science in Operations Management and Master of Science in Engineering Management. The role acts as the first point of contact for visitors, provides professional office reception, and supports the department through a variety of administrative tasks.
- Provide professional office reception and assist with travel arrangements.
- Manage office equipment and supplies and maintain physical spaces.
- Enter appropriate transactions in Workday and perform other assigned duties.
- Assist program leadership, faculty, and staff with special projects and prepare documents such as academic standing notifications, administrative reports, recruiting event materials, and other responsibilities as directed.
Regular, reliable, and non‑disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. Remote work is not available for this position.
Minimum Qualifications- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Associate's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
- At least one year in an office setting
Applicable equivalencies may be considered on the above qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in international education and intercultural/international experience
- Bachelor's degree in business management, education, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education
- At least one year of experience in a related field
- Ability to collaborate and communicate professionally and clearly with technical and non‑technical personnel.
- Ability to think independently and abstractly about concrete problems and provide robust, practical solutions.
- Skill to manage, document, and deliver projects as scoped.
This position is renewable annually based on continued need for the position, availability of funding, and satisfactory job performance.
Salary Information$33,000 - $40,000
