Key ResponsibilitiesThe Hall Director is an integral component to the success of the Residence Education area for University Housing.
Responsibilities include:
- Creating a community where academics and community involvement are honored.
- Facilitating an environment within the residence hall that supports students' and staff's academic, social, physical and cultural development.
- Providing day‑to‑day management leadership of the hall or complex to create a safe, clean and comfortable environment.
- Articulating the philosophy and policies of University Housing, the Division of Student Affairs, and the University to students and representing student needs to the administration.
- Maintaining regular, reliable, and non‑disruptive attendance and fostering collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in sociology, public administration, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- At least two years of experience in program administration or a related area.
- Master’s degree in college student personnel, higher education administration, counseling, or a directly related field.
- Graduate and/or full‑time experience with community living and leadership development.
- At least three years of experience in program administration or a related area.
- Knowledge of how to plan and organize events for students.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
