Job QualificationsHigh school diploma required;
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science preferred.
Three or more years of experience with service provider level networking with a four-year degree, or at least eight plus years without a four-year degree.
Skills and Knowledge- Proficient with ISIS, OSPF, BGP, RSVP, LDP, and MPLS protocols
- Experience with L3
VPN, VPLS, EVPN, multicast MPLS, SNMP, MPLS traffic engineering, network capacity planning - Experience with DHCP for IPv4 and IPv6, managing DNS records
- Proficient with Python or similar languages
- Basic knowledge of DWDM optical networking and optical switching
- Juniper JNCIS-SP certification or higher preferred
- Experience with Linux OS and metro ethernet standards
- Design, configure, and document networks
- Build and present Proof of Concepts
- Network capacity planning
- Serve as escalation contact
- Develop network automation
- Complete annual training and certifications
- Respond to emergencies in a 24/7 environment
Frequent contact with key account representatives and outside contacts, impacting organization operations.
Other Requirements- Operate office equipment, valid driver’s license, strong report writing and presentation skills, advanced mathematical skills, problem-solving ability, and ability to interpret technical instructions.
