Instrumentation and Controls Engineer – Intermediate (Data Centers)

Position Summary:

The Instrumentation and Controls Engineer will design, optimize, and support control systems for data center and industrial projects across North America. The role requires coordination with architects, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers to deliver complete, compliant, and cost‑effective solutions.

Base Pay Range: $69,500.00 – $95,500.00 per year

• Develop and review P&IDs, instrument selections, and system specifications.
• Size valves, calculate sizing, and validate instrumentation performance.
• Document and model design information using CAD/engineering tools.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, industry standards, and client expectations.
• Provide on‑site assistance during startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate work activities with multidisciplinary teams and discipline leads.
• Participate in schedule management, cost control, and technical quality reviews.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Control Systems, or Electrical Engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience with instrumentation and control design.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Forward‑thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute innovative ideas.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Passion for buildings and construction.

• Working knowledge of DDC, PLC, DCS, and other controls applications.
• Experience working with Data Centers.
• Displayed ability to learn quickly and drive broad knowledge base.
