I and C Engineer – Entry Level (Data Centers)
Join Jacobs as an entry‑level Instrumentation and Controls Engineer in data center projects across the United States. This role offers an opportunity to work on state‑of‑the‑art industrial and commercial facilities, gaining experience in control system design, startup assistance, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
Base Pay Range$58,656 – $80,000 per year
Responsibilities- Accountable for the schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks.
- Provide on‑site assistance during startup and coordinate work activities with other staff members.
- Help design and optimize control systems for various processes, collaborating with architects, engineers, and designers.
- Develop P&IDs, size valves, specify instrumentation, and document and model design information while ensuring compliance with building codes and industry standards.
- Produce control system designs, develop options and optimizations for process control, instrumentation, and automation.
- Associate’s or Engineering Technician degree in Mechanical, Control Systems, or Electrical Engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Control Systems, or Electrical Engineering.
- Working knowledge of Revit software.
- Engineer in Training (EIT).
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Forward thinking, eagerness to learn best practices, and innovative mindset.
- Ability to learn quickly and broaden knowledge base.
- Collaboration skills in multidisciplinary teams.
- Passion for buildings and construction.
- Prior experience with DDC and PLC based control systems.
- Experience with Data Center design or operations.
