Summary of

Job Duties

The Plumber I is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems, equipment, and fixtures, natural gas components and piping, irrigation systems, backflow preventer testing and repairs and storm drains within the campus. This role requires a thorough knowledge of plumbing systems, excellent problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Regular, reliable and non‑disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Arkansas Journeyman Plumber License according to ACA 17‑38‑301
  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
  • At least four years of experience in the plumbing trade
  • Valid Driver License
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least five years of experience in the plumbing industry/trade
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of the methods, practices, and safety precautions in one or more of the skilled trades
  • Knowledge of the accepted practices, processes, materials, and tools of the various skilled trades
  • Knowledge of the laws and regulations relating to one or more of the skilled trades
  • Ability to provide mathematical and analytical skills necessary to do material estimates for one or more of the skilled trades
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, schematics, building plans, and/or work drawings
  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to maintain inventory on needed parts and tools for one or more of the skilled trades
