Summary of Job Duties
The Bus Operator is responsible for the safe operation of a large passenger motor vehicle and transporting passengers to specific destinations within the general area. This position performs prescribed pre/post-operational safety maintenance checks, accumulates and records statistics for daily fixed‑route service reports, and demonstrates excellent customer service skills. Shift rotation may result in a shift differential.

- Accumulate and record statistics for daily fixed‑route service reports.
- Provide excellent customer service to passengers.
- Maintain regular, non‑disruptive attendance and collaborate with team members.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years of driving experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- CDL Class B or higher with Passenger Endorsement (preferred).
- Experience operating a large 35‑ and 40‑foot transit vehicle on city streets in fixed route service (preferred).
- Knowledge of DOT/CDL regulations.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work with and learn new technology.
- Ability to succeed in a diverse working environment.
Razorback Transit provides paid CDL training to obtain the required Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) for this position. The cost of testing materials is reimbursed upon successful completion of the written and skills test.
Work ScheduleBase work schedule:
Tuesday‑Saturday. Saturday is a mandatory workday. Overtime work/pay is available and/or required.
$43,680 – $56,160 per year (commensurate with education and experience).
