Position: Part-Time Nutritionist 1, 2, or 3

Part‑Time Nutritionist – District 4 WIC Program

Georgia Department of Public Health, Fayette County WIC & Nutrition Center – 245 Booker Ave, Suite B, Fayetteville, GA 30215.

Position Summary: Under supervision, plans and conducts nutritional programs to promote health and control disease. Provides nutritional assessment, education, and counseling to individuals, groups, or the public. Serves as a resource on nutrition and dietetics to nurses, health educators, and other health care providers.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assesses nutritional needs and develops dietary‑care plans with counseling.
  • Consults with physicians and health care personnel to determine client dietary restrictions.
  • Advises clients and families on nutrition principles, dietary plans, and food selection and preparation.
  • Counsels individuals and groups on healthy eating habits and nutrition monitoring.
  • Develops policies for food service or nutritional programs to assist in health promotion and disease control.
  • Creates curriculum, visual aids, course outlines, and other materials for teaching.
  • Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates strategies for promoting and supporting breastfeeding.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Nutritionist 1:
    Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, nutrition, or related field from an accredited college and completion of an accredited didactic program accredited by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Nutritionist 2:
    Bachelor’s degree and didactic program accreditation plus two years of job‑related experience providing nutrition care to groups and individuals or equivalent experience at the lower level Dietitian/Nutritionist 1.
  • Nutritionist 3:
    Bachelor’s degree and didactic program accreditation plus three years of job‑related experience providing nutrition care to groups and individuals or two years of experience at the lower level Dietitian/Nutritionist 2.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bi‑lingual Spanish/English language.
  • Minimum overall undergraduate GPA of 2.5.
