Our Pharmacy Managers play a critical role in cultivating a culture of excellence in their respective pharmacy by acting as a role model for all, demonstrating genuine care, and setting the bar for their pharmacy team.
- Live our purpose by managing and improving patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
- Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts, strengthening performance measures through coaching and consistent follow‑up.
- Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the pharmacy team to follow established workflow procedures and safety guardrails at every workstation.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, coaching the team to collaborate with the patient’s total health care team and proactively resolve insurance and medication issues.
- Proactively offer and deliver immunizations to keep patients healthy; engage and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize.
- Manage pharmacy inventory by coaching the team to follow all inventory best practices, especially protecting cold chain products.
- Conduct new Technician and Pharmacist onboarding for the store and district, ensuring timely completion of required training and licensure.
- Ensure pharmacy operations comply with all state Board of Pharmacy regulations; raise concerns to the Regional Director if needed.
- Partner with the Store Manager to maintain a healthy talent pipeline of cross‑trained pharmacy colleagues and ensure they complete licensure training on time.
- Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists (where applicable), delivering annual performance reviews and addressing gaps.
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, managing the pharmacy schedule and delegating responsibilities appropriately.
- Review business reporting to develop action plans and close gaps in workflow, service, patient care, and compliance.
- Establish a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion, supporting psychological safety through open communication.
- Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills, participating in required training and CME activities.
- Support access to care through pharmacist‑delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services, where permissible.
- Comply with all federal and state laws, professional standards, and CVS Health policies to ensure patient safety, controlled substance dispensing, and a safe workplace for colleagues.
- Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located.
- Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
- Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.
- 1–2 years of experience as a Pharmacist.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe.
- Attention and Focus: concentrate on a task over time, pivot quickly between tasks, confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety.
- Customer Service and Team Orientation: actively help people in a friendly manner; notice and understand patients’ reactions and respond appropriately.

use verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues; practice active listening, ask questions, and avoid inappropriate interruptions. - Mathematical Reasoning: use math to solve problems such as determining the total number of tablets, day’s supply, and bottles needed to fill a prescription.
