As a Nextech HVAC/R Technician, you will deliver reliable, high‑quality service to commercial clients: troubleshooting, repairs, installations, and preventive maintenance.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair HVAC/R systems, including electrical, mechanical, and electronic components.
- Perform maintenance and emergency service, including after‑hours on‑call rotations.
- Accurately document all service details using company‑provided iPads.
- Maintain your company vehicle, tools, and parts inventory to the highest standards.
- Communicate clearly with customers and dispatch to ensure smooth scheduling and service delivery.
- Identify additional service opportunities and share them with customers.
- Provide the highest level of technical ability, quality, value, and integrity to customers.
- Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, cooling, and refrigeration units for commercial customers.
- Diagnose and repair electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of these systems.
- Travel to job sites, work with dispatcher to maintain schedule and communicate delays.
- Be available to work nights or weekends on a rotating basis for emergency needs.
- Maintain good working order of company vehicle, equipment, safety gear, and inventory.
- Document details of services and parts provided electronically via iPad applications.
- Diagnose diverse service issues, obtain replacement parts, calibrate system, explain solutions.
- Participate in company‑provided training opportunities.
- Identify and report potential opportunities for additional business.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience as an HVAC/R field technician.
- EPA certification and a valid driver’s license.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and work plans.
- Basic comfort with mobile apps and technology.
- A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to quality.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or holidays when needed.
- Safely work at heights using ladders up to 28‑32 feet and operate equipment within manufacturer weight limits.
- Lift, carry, and maneuver tools and equipment up to 100 lbs.
- Perform bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching into confined spaces, twisting, pushing, and pulling tasks.
- Maintain physical stamina and endurance for repetitive tasks and extended activity.
- Stand, sit, walk, and climb ladders throughout the day.
- Use vision, hearing, and verbal communication continuously.
- Operate work‑related equipment such as iPads, cell phones, and computers.
- Travel to customer sites as needed.
- Occasionally work in an office environment.
- Follow all applicable safety procedures.
