PT Alarm Monitor

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Operate telephone console to receive incoming calls for assistance.
• Question callers to determine the nature of the problem and the type and number of personnel and equipment needed, following established guidelines.
• Scan status charts and computer screens to determine units available.
• Monitor alarm system signals that indicate the location of fire or other emergency.
• Operate two-way radio to dispatch police, fire, medical, and other personnel and equipment, and to relay instructions or information to remove units.
• Type commands on computer keyboard to update files and maintain logs.
• Test communications and alarm equipment and backup systems to ensure serviceability.
• May provide pre-arrival instructions to callers, utilizing knowledge of medical techniques.
• May activate alarm systems to notify fire stations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of basic computer functions
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Reliable work ethic and ability to remain calm and speak clearly
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to prioritize
• 1-year previous experience
• Ability to pass background check and obtain the Computer Access Card

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Physical requirements may include, but are not limited to, lifting, ascending and descending stairs, climbing, extended sitting or standing, to various degrees.
