Job Summary
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) and offers a competitive base salary of $–$ per year. Benefits include annual performance bonus, paid time off, retirement and health insurance, and relocation and sign‑on incentives (if eligible).
Qualifications- United States citizenship (or non‑citizen where no qualified citizen is available).
- Doctor of Medicine or equivalent from a VA‑approved medical school.
- Full, unrestricted state medical license in the U.S. (or DC) or Canadian equivalent as applicable.
- Completed residency in a core specialty certified by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs (ACGME, AOA, or approved non‑U.S. residency with five years of practice in the U.S.).
- Minimum proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Board certification in gastroenterology required.
- Preferred:
Veterans Health Administration experience.
Physicians must meet all core criteria; currently employed VA physicians who met prior qualification standards remain eligible.
Duties- Provide high‑quality outpatient and inpatient care for patients 18 and older, maintaining clinical privileges and board certification.
- Serve as supervising chief and mentor for medical students, residents, and advanced practice practitioners.
- Participate in on‑call coverage, responding to patient needs within 30–60 minutes per VA policy.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop treatment and discharge plans.
- Maintain compliance with accreditation standards such as the Joint Commission and local policies.
- Engage in continuous professional development and report required educational activities annually.
