* PhD in Chemistry, or a closely related field, from an accredited institution of higher education conferred by the date of initial appointment
* Evidence of, or a demonstrated potential for, exceptional teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate and graduate level
* Evidence of, or a demonstrated potential for, external funded research and scholarly/creative activity
* Demonstrated experience in interdisciplinary, transdisciplinary, and/or cross-campus collaborations
* Evidence of significant experience in a modern area of Chemistry
* Strong record of successful publication in the thematic and/or methodological areas of position focus
* Demonstrated ability to develop effective undergraduate and graduate classes that complement the current course catalog
* Demonstrated ability in mentoring undergraduate and graduate students in independent research
* Strong evidence of the ability to be an active, involved, and collegial member of a collaborative faculty team both on campus and in relevant national service organizations
* Current knowledge in the area of chemistry that complements current strength of the department
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to develop external funded research
