Library Assistant Agriculture, Food, and Life Sciences; AFLS

University of Arkansas, Fayetteville (University of Arkansas System) invites applications for a Staff‑Clerical position as an Hourly Library Assistant for Agriculture, Food, and Life Sciences (AFLS). The position is temporary (fixed term) and will be located in the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food, and Life Sciences. Closing date: 01/10/2026.

As an Hourly Library Assistant you will work closely with the Agriculture Librarian to support instruction, research services, and promote the University Libraries to students and faculty. You will assist in developing and assessing instruction workshops, support library events, and participate in project development aligned with personal interests.

• Support instruction, research services, and promotion of University Libraries relevant to AFLS.
• Assist in development and assessment of instruction or workshop sessions focused on information literacy concepts.
• Provide excellent patron services and support library events.
• Engage in project development related to instructional design, curriculum development, visual thinking strategies, and digital literacy.
• Maintain reliable, in‑person attendance and adapt to a flexible schedule.

• Minimum
  :
  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Preferred
  :
  Education in agriculture, food, life sciences or related field.
• Experience with instructional design, curriculum planning, or program development.
• Experience or willingness to learn marketing, outreach, promotion strategies for academic library services.
• Experience or willingness to learn immersive technology tools (AR/VR, data visualization).
• Currently enrolled in graduate school.

• Effective interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to a flexible working schedule.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.

• Graduate students subject to background checks.
• Salary: $18.52 per hour.
