Summary of
Job Duties:
The program associate will assist in the cowpea and rice biotechnology projects focusing on developing the protocols for regeneration and genetic transformations. The primary duties of the program associate will be to carry out rice transformations, assist in cowpea transformation protocols, and analyze transgenic plants using molecular and imaging approaches. The program associate will also maintain greenhouse for the whole group and work in other related projects under development and provide technical guidance to graduate students on plant transformation and molecular biology aspects of their projects.
Qualifications:
- Minimum qualifications:
B.S, plus three years of related experience or an M.S. in plant biotechnology or related area. - Preferred qualifications:
Ph.D. in plant biotechnology or related area. Extensive experience in plant tissue culture transformation, especially with cereals and legume crops, is preferred. - The applicant must be able to communicate effectively, and work cooperatively with other members of the laboratory.
