Position Summary
The University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture and the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville seek an energetic individual to provide creative and exemplary leadership for the research, teaching and extension programs in the Department of Food Science. The successful candidate will proactively lead continuing efforts to maintain and build strong, multidisciplinary research and extension programs in applied and basic research in food science and related disciplines and provide leadership in teaching programs.
Responsibilities- Provide exemplary leadership in planning, integrating, and implementing research, extension, and teaching programs in the Food Science Department.
- Administer fiscal and personnel management for department personnel, programs, and physical resources.
- Plan faculty development and pursue extramural funding.
- Coordinate with university programs, professional and governmental agencies, and industry groups.
- Maintain awareness of agriculture in Arkansas and evolving research priorities in Food Science.
- Serve as part of the broader administrative team of the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture and the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Science.
- Ph.D. in Food Science or a closely related discipline.
- Outstanding record of professional accomplishments and leadership experience.
- Demonstrated ability to administer programs, including resident instruction, research, extension, and service.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to attract extramural funding.
- Experience in a land‑grant university system or a multi‑mission unit is desirable.
- Internationally recognized research and funding record consistent with a full‑professor appointment.
