Summary of

Job Duties

The Staff Engineer is responsible for providing mechanical, electrical & plumbing design for FAMA shop construction & job order projects. The engineer may perform inspections; provide technical assistance & code research to clients and FAMA shops; give direction to on‑call design firms; review construction documents, cost estimates and work orders; and prepare "as-built" drawings for systems such as fire alarm, safety showers, emergency & exit lights, generators, backflow prev enters, utilities, campus lighting, etc.

Regular, reliable, and non‑disruptive attendance is essential, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution of higher education.
• Candidate has at least three years of related experience in mechanical engineering/system design.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Licensed as a professional engineer in the State of Arkansas.
• Experience in HVAC, plumbing, lighting, power, data system & fire protection system design.
• Experience defining project scope.
• Experience writing specifications and producing construction documents.
• Experience with energy modeling.
• LEED accreditation or similar sustainability credential.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam.
• Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, IMC, etc.).
• Familiarity with commissioning processes and lifecycle cost analysis.

Additional Information

Salary Information: $75,092 - $86,355; commensurate with education and experience.
