We are actively seeking a compassionate and skilled Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Team Lead to join our team full-time. This role is essential to our mission, providing therapy, crisis support, and service coordination for mental health clients in a variety of settings. As a Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Team Lead with Carolina Outreach, you will provide group and individual substance abuse counseling to substance abuse clients..

Compensation: $57,806.91 - $65,607.98

* Final compensation is determined by factors such as education, licensure level, experience and other qualifications.*

List of Responsibilities, Requirements, and Duties Direct Services
  • In coordination with the Site Manager, ensure adequate staff coverage for all aspects of the SUD program including new client intakes, group facilitation, participation in community meetings/courts.
  • In coordination with the Site Manager, monitor client participation in services and add or eliminate groups or services offered by the SUD program as needed.
  • In coordination with the Site Manager, develop new services within the SUD program as appropriate and based on community need.
  • Provide primary or secondary clinical and/or administrative supervision of the team and serve as a practicing clinician on the team.
  • Meet individually as needed with SUD program staff for supervision and with the SUD team weekly and facilitate team meetings.
  • Ensure appropriate authorization is requested in a timely manner after initial assessment (within 3-5 days) and that auth remains in place for each client for duration of treatment.
  • Ensure all documentation is in order.
  • Provide clinical expertise, guidance, and/or oversight to the team in the provision of services.
  • Ensure that referrals to program are followed up on within agency expected guidelines and initial assessments completed within 7 days of referrals.
  • Work with clients/families/natural supports to assess strengths/needs, assist with planning, developing, implementing, and assessing treatment and ancillary services.
  • Recommend the types of treatment modalities needed and provide these services directly or by referral.
  • Develop/evaluate the service plan to ensure that services are being delivered and are appropriate to the needs of the client.
  • Act as an advocate in the community.
  • Be available to respond as needed to clients, co-workers, and supervises 24/7/365.
  • Respond to client and/or stakeholder concerns or complaints as needed.
  • Facilitate group treatment.
  • Counsel individually as appropriate as defined by the service definition for service provided.
  • Ensure that documentation is completed and submitted for client’s to be authorized for payment.
  • Intake Coordination - Ensure that all referred clients are screened and assessed for appropriate services.
Minimum Education , Training, and Experience
  • At a minimum, a Master’s Degree in the Human Services field, completion of 300 supervised hours of practicum, and under current supervision by a Certified Clinical Supervisor (CSS) or Clinical Supervisor Intern (CSI). Must hold a registration issued by the governing board regulating a human service profession, specifically a LCAS designation for this position.
  • Full licensed required LCMHC or LCSW
