The Division of Enterprise Operations serves as the operational backbone of Fayetteville State University. It leads the planning, implementation, and evaluation of key administrative functions that sustain campus growth, enhance service delivery, and align with the University’s strategic priorities. DEO is committed to operational excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement across HR, IT, Facilities, and Campus Enterprises.
The Director of Enterprise Operations Administration reports directly to the Deputy Chief Operating Officer (COO) and serves as a critical administrative and operational leader within the Division of Enterprise Operations. This position provides executive‑level administrative, fiscal, and organizational management for the Division and directly oversees the daily operations of the Office of the COO. The Director functions as both the office manager and executive assistant, supporting coordination across divisional units, managing budgets and reports, and ensuring the efficient flow of information and communication throughout the Division.
The position partners with DEO directors and senior leadership to promote efficiency, accountability, and strategic alignment across HR, IT, Facilities, and Campus Enterprises.
- Possess a master’s degree or higher in business administration, public administration, higher education administration, or a related field.
- A bachelor’s degree plus alternative equivalent professional training and experience may be substituted for the advanced degree.
- Minimum of ten years of experience in administrative, fiscal, or operational management of federal and/or state agencies, and five or more years of experience in a higher education setting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of higher education administration, budgeting, and financial management, including state appropriations, trust funds, auxiliary operations, and capital project budgeting within a public university environment.
- Thorough understanding of the North Carolina General Statutes, UNC System policies, and state fiscal and administrative regulations governing procurement, contracting, human resources, and reporting requirements.
- Expertise in operational planning, performance measurement, and resource optimization to ensure effective alignment of fiscal and administrative functions with institutional priorities.
- Proficiency in enterprise systems and data analytics tools, including Banner Finance and HR modules, Power BI for institutional reporting, and Microsoft 365 platforms for collaboration, workflow automation, and information management.
- Strong understanding of risk management and compliance frameworks as they relate to financial stewardship, audit readiness, and organizational accountability.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse operational units and present complex informationう clear to senior executives and governing bodies.
- Advanced analytical and data reporting skills for translating financial and operational data into actionable insights that support evidence‑based decision‑making and performance improvement.
- High‑level organizational and coordination skills to oversee multiple priorities, streamline administrative processes, and ensure timely execution of divisional initiatives.
