POSITION TITLE: Supervisor, Assembly/Finish

STATUS: Exempt

AREA: Assembly/Finish

POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

This supervisory position is responsible for production, safety, quality, and efficiency in the Assembly/Finish Department and provides leadership, direction, and instructions for the unionized workforce. This position also acts as a liaison between production, departments upstream and downstream, and the Administrative Staff.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for manufacturing and assembly of cores, coils, woodwork electrical connections, seating of coils, miscellaneous duties related to assembly of Industrial Power Transformers
  • Meeting Production schedules and requirements
  • Train employees on processes and procedures
  • Partnering in design, modification, and installation of specialized equipment
  • Ascertain the basic manufacturing flow of the product
  • Analyze potential problems, provides options, and implements solutions
  • Keep work area safe, neat, and clean.
  • Department housekeeping
  • All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous supervisory experience in production, manufacturing, or other related fields
  • Strong understanding of Electrical Engineering concepts is a REQUIREMENT
  • Blueprint, schematic drawings
  • Knowledge of production tools and equipment
  • Strong leadership qualities
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
  • Articulates in analyzing potential problems, provides options and implements agreed solutions.
  • Must be able to work on complex work assignments and possess time management skills
  • Has contributory or shared decision impact
  • Must have good communication skills – oral and written
  • Good computer skills, i.e., ALL Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Teams, Excell, Word etc.), Programming, Paylocity, Excel
PHYSICAL JOB DEMANDS

Ability to lift 60 lbs., work in extreme hot and cold weather, must stand for long periods of time, will be exposed to loud noise levels, operate hand and power tools for long periods of time. Work in an environment with dirt, grease and dust.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Relationships are generally intra-organizational interacting with immediate supervisor and personnel under his direction. The incumbent maintains the interface between departments allowing for the coordination and execution of production requirements. Contacts with vendors are also maintained.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Monday through Friday and on call is required. Shift, weekend may be required.

THIS IS 2ND SHIFT (2:15PM - 10:45PM)
