Position

Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and motivated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing pediatric team. This is a full-time, permanent position ideal for a clinician passionate about delivering exceptional care to children from birth through adolescence in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities Clinical Care
  • Perform comprehensive well-child exams, sick visits, and developmental screenings.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic pediatric conditions.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, etc.) to guide clinical decision-making.
  • Prescribe and manage appropriate medications, immunizations, and therapies.
  • Provide anticipatory guidance regarding growth, development, nutrition, and safety.
  • Perform in-office procedures such as ear irrigations, wound care, and nebulizer treatments as appropriate.
  • Assess and manage behavioral and emotional health concerns in collaboration with behavioral health specialists.
  • Coordinate care with specialists, hospitals, and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient management.
Patient and Family Education
  • Counsel parents and caregivers on preventive healthcare, childhood development milestones, and chronic disease management.
  • Provide education on medication use, treatment plans, and follow-up care instructions.
  • Support families in understanding and managing developmental, behavioral, and learning issues.
Team Collaboration
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and administrative staff to ensure continuity and quality of care.
  • Participate in case reviews, staff meetings, and multidisciplinary care discussions.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with all members of the care team.
Administrative and Quality Responsibilities
  • Maintain detailed, accurate, and timely electronic medical records (EMR) documentation.
  • Participate in clinical quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice projects.
  • Follow established clinical protocols, policies, and compliance regulations.
  • Assist in mentoring and training new staff members or clinical students when applicable.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of patient-centered care policies and procedures.

Requirements Required
  • Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) or Physician Assistant Studies.
  • Active, unrestricted North Carolina NP or PA license.
  • Board certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C).
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications (or ability to obtain before start).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of pediatric pharmacology, immunizations, and growth/development milestones.
  • Excellent diagnostic, clinical, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred
  • 3-5 years of pediatric experience in an outpatient or primary care setting.
  • Experience using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based guidelines and preventive care standards.
