Resource Nurse‑Family Care Center – Full‑Time Nights
Join our team at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center as a Resource Nurse in the Family Care Center. In this overnight role, you will provide high‑quality nursing care, support staff, and coordinate patient care in a fast‑paced environment.
Compensation & Incentives$20,000 Bonus and Relocation Assistance Available.
Key Responsibilities- Complete daily patient assignments and conduct rounds with physicians.
- Serve as primary point of contact for physicians, administrators, and nursing staff.
- Act as a resource for nurses, assistants, techs, and unit secretaries.
- Assist with procedures, order checks, and equipment maintenance.
- Perform daily quality control and equipment checks.
- Evaluate patient acuity and adjust care plans accordingly.
- Support the Performance Management Committee (PCM) in evaluating personnel work performance.
- Assist in developing monthly staff schedules.
- Provide clinical education in the absence of a preceptor.
- Conduct patient and family rounds at regular intervals.
- Coordinate with Care Coordinators and discharge planners.
- Collaborate with Patient Placement & nursing supervisors.
- Take patient assignments when staffing options are exhausted.
- Implement processes defined by Hospital Innovation Projects.
- Monitor staff performance relative to Press Gainey/HCAAPS.
- Carry a cell phone to facilitate timely communication.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education and Training: Associate’s Degree in Nursing required;
Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; current RN licensure in North Carolina. - Experience: Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Positive interpersonal skills; strong verbal and written communication; organizational, teaching, and leadership skills.
- Physical Requirements: Adequate visual and auditory acuity; ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 35 lbs; exposure to blood or other potentially infectious material.
